WHAT WE DO
There are several roles performed by the Sri Lanka Nursing Council. Providing technical assistance related to the nursing profession in policy making, preparing a suitable and proper policy to train the nursing professionals, monitoring whether the nursing curriculum meets the nursing education standards and training institutions are in a suitable condition and accepting the certificate awarded by them, determining the recruitment qualifications for nursing educational institutions and examinations. Implementing procedures to maintain its standards, giving permission to engage in the profession through the registration of nurses, setting up a code of ethics for nurses, conducting investigations and taking necessary legal action against nurses engaged in anti-social activities, preparing series of instructions for the service standards of the nursing profession and raising awareness about them, introducing and implementing projects related to future improvement. Finally, the councils examines and verifies whether the foreign trained nurses have met the qualifications related to the rules and regulations established in our country. are done through the Nursing Council
